Changing my Hotmail password

If you need to change your Hotmail password go to the main page ( or and look for the little setting icon at the top right (Should be right between your name and the Skype icon) you will see many options like feedback, changing the color theme or help, scroll down until “Options” and click on it.

You will see many options here; preventing junk mail, customizing, writing and reading emails. You should go “Manage your account” and “Account details (password, addresses, time zone)”.

Click on it and it’ll take you to a sign in page that will ask for your actual password, write it and press sign in.

Now you are in the “View basic information about your account” page, at the top you have options such as info, services, payment or devices, look for “Security & Privacy” and click on it.

You will see now two options, Account Security and Online Safety. At Account Security look for change password link and click on it.

You’ll need to select an option to receive a code to continue (A security code) you can select your alternative email or your phone; you’ll get an email or SMS shortly.

Now you can change your password, in order to make your account more secure you should use a minimum of eight characters, use a mix of capital and lowercase letters, use numbers as well as letters and use punctuation or other non-alphanumeric characters.

Click save, and you’ll have changed your Hotmail password.
